EDITING/PROOFREADING (see below for explanation)

We will be practicing the proofreading/editing marks throughout the year.

For the remainder of the year, students will be completing assignments labeled "editing paragraphs." These are short paragraphs that students correct using proofreading marks. Paragraphs have 10 mistakes in capitalization, punctuation, and spelling. Students are also given helpful hints to refer to while working. We will be completing MANY of these editing paragraphs, and I hope to see steady growth in students' skills. A few lower grades on these assignments will NOT do much at all to affect final grades, so please don't be alarmed!
